How do I land correctly while snowboarding?
May 10th, 2008 | by admin |Hello,
I have been snowboarding for quite sometime now. I would not consider myself a pro, but I can carve and freeride really well. I have been comfortable riding boxes and doing small jumps, but recently I cased on a larger jump due to my toe edge catching.
When landing off larger jumps, how should I be landing on my board? Should I try to heel/toe out, or land flat on the laminate not trying to ride an edge out?

land on a flat base. make sure you are balanced and centred over the board when you take off. stay balanced in the air. spot you landing, and land with a flat base, not on an edge.

Land flat-based. In the air you typically have your knees bent so your body is in a low position. As you approach the landing, you extend your legs to prepare for the landing. Then when you make contact you bend at the knees again to control your landing. Board should contact flat-based and straight down the landing ramp. Once you have stabilized you can engage an edge to turn or stop.

try landing flat but if you are scared that you might go head first try landing alittle more on the tail just a little do not try using you edge specially on a big jump
