How can I persue a snowboarding career?
June 23rd, 2008 | by admin |I’m a 13 year old girl whos only snowboarded two weeks (one week a year at snowboard camp) and have been told I’m extremely good. I was better than all the high school guys who had been snowboarding the same amount of time as me and I was wondering how can I get pursue this as I get older and get the oppurtinity to board more. I can carve well, have mediumly ok aireal skills as I can do grabs and spins, and love off piste and want to try freeriding (I like carving the most and exploring powder) please help!

keep practising and when your out of school you could be a instructor yourself

Keep practicing and get better. Schedule a lot of private lessons so you can get help on what you need to work on without the instructor needing to help other people.
Then you should start trying to get into a lot of competitions once you get good. Then maybe you could even try out for a team that goes to competitions.
Then if you start to get noticed you can get sponsored and then keep going to bigger and bigger competitions until you get to the X games or the Olympics. I know it sounds unreal but if you put your mind to it and really like it it could happen.

RIDE. Its that easy. You have a good start at the camps but you need to get more days under you belt. Pros ride 100+ days a year and everybody thinks they can too. Get out and ride. Enter local events and talk to people. Being a pro rider is only 70% talent. The companies want people that will sell their product. Enjoy yourself, Snowboard because you love it, not to try and get a job.

1st of all shred more often that’ll get u good faster. 2nd compete. if the pros didn’t compete they never would have been pros. next get good @ freestyle- that’s where the fame is right now (actually u might want 2 do that before competing) then last wish yourself luck because even if u have skill u wont get discovered unless sponsors happen 2 b @ the same event as u and u have 2 b @ ur best. i want a career in snowboarding too. being a pro would be cool, but I’m going 2 try and open up the next big snowboard company and finally give burton a run for its money
