July 14th, 2008 | by admin |

This is my 5th year snpwboarding and i’ve recently landed a 1080 on a 6 foot jump. I am 14 years old and have just been riding for fun my whole life. Until lately people have been telling me that I should get sponsered. They say i could get pretty far landing 1080s at 14. So it came into my mind i could actually go somewhere with snowboarding please help me out.

Make a demo tape of yourself (try and get someone who knows how to tape you) and start to send it to companies you would like to have sponsoring you. I saw a documentary on Dakides and that’s how she started. On her demo, her best trick was a busted 540. You got a shot bro.

You’ve gotta enter competitions, and do well in the standings

Really? Get it on tape and bring it to your local snow shop. Also enter as many comps as you can and get recognition. Look at how Shaun White blew up. There’s thousands of money hungry companies that would love to see their name on a 14 year old’s setup, especially if that 14 year old can hang with the big boys.
