You need to get a padded snowboard bag to take the boards on a flight. If you get a double board bag, you should be able to squeeze 3 boards in pretty easily.

Best/cheapest place I know of to get snowboard equipment including the kind of bag you need is an online store called Discount Snowboards Australia based in Melbourne:

Double board bags start at around $120.

I would not rust them..contact either UPS or FEDEX and ask them how much to ship them right to where your going to be staying, and you can even insure them...
give them a call and ask them...plus you will not have to carry them ..they will show up at your place ..where your going to stay

but also give the airlines a call so you can have a comparison..

good luck

The best is to go to a local shipping store and have ship them for you and you get them when you arrive at your destination.
