I think it's all relative to your board vs. boot size? My boyfriend is a size 11 boot and the guys at the store suggested he look into getting a wide board -like maybe the Custom Wide. Then the toes wouldn't hang over as much and catch the snow. I would suggest going to your local board shop and asking them. My boots slightly hang over my board too, but not that much.
