How do i fix a snowboard thats hard to stop?
April 30th, 2009 | by admin |I just bought a burton snowboard offline, that a lady sold to me. She just had a baby, and decided to stop snowboarding. I tried it out, and relized its hard to stop. I’ll swing it forward, but it’ll swing back and just keep going. What do you think would help fix the problem?

Tune the edges.

Take it to a shop and have the edges reground to a steeper angle. It may have been setup for a more soft terrain or maybe never touched from the box. Tell the guys at the shop your prob and they will fix it. It will run $20-$30.

Sounds like you gotta sharpen the edges. Either get an edge tool and learn how to do it by having someone experienced show you (it’s a good skill to have) or else take it to your board to the shop and get them to do it. Also, take it slow and screw around with the weight transfer. Every time I’m on a new board I find I have to do different things with my body to get it to coordinate just how I want it to. Each board is unique.
Hope this helps!
