Where in ontario can you snowboard during the summer?

October 10th, 2009 | by admin |

I live in Toronto, Ontario and i get nervous and sad whenever the snowboarding/skiing season is ending.
-I wanted to know how far north i would have to travel to be able to snowboard during the summer.
-I am willing to drive by one province and possibly two.

Other forms:
How far north do i have to drive to be able to snowboard in Ontario?
What towns are skiiable/snowboardable during the summer in ontario?
What snowboarding/skiiing packages are offered for ontario snowboarding.

You could go to Queensland New Zealand in the summer.
It’s their winter. I did it once and it was awesome.

You need to drive south to New Jersey, it would be indoors at the Meadowlands.

If you want to snowboard in Canada, in the summer, you had better be willing to travel WAYYYYyyyyyy up north. Check the map of summer temperatures in Canada. The only areas you could (cross country) ski or snowboard is shown in the darker blue and purple areas.

From the looks of the map you won’t find it anywhere but up in the Territories.

Actually you may be able to snowboard in Alberta in summer in the high altitude mountain tops where snow remains because of altitude and lower atmospheric pressure at the tops of mountains results in temperatures above freezing that keep snow from melting away because the lower the atmospheric pressure, the higher the melting point of water.

The closest place you could go snowboarding in the summer in Canada is Whistler. They have summer snowboarding camps on the glaciers there. The ski resorts in Alberta all close by May long weekend.

My advice would be to stay in Toronto this summer. During this time you could spend attending a crash course in the geography of Canada.
